Atkinsville, Georgia, Population 750, depending on the day, at first glance looks like Smalltown, USA. But like most such places, it has its sinister mysteries and dark secrets. The good and bad, the witted and half witted, the sane and the not so sane. The mute barber. The over caffeinated night patrolman. The high school bully who never grew up. The greasy spoon owner with a big heart. The understanding preacher and the traveling evangelist with not so pure ideas of salvation. The perverted blackmailer and his hapless victims. And “Big” Jack Kowalski, who can not only drive a tractor trailer rig with the best of them, but is also the best female author the world has ever known.
This novel has occasional strong language, because some of the characters are not nice people. It also has some adult situations, because many of the characters are adults. But above all, it has a dark yet entertaining humor that can only be found by someone lost in South Georgia in a small town. If you read this book, that someone is you.
